Summer is (almost) kaput. The horrible dark, wet and nippy nights are fast approaching, as in the early hours of Sunday 30th October British Summer time officially ends when we all fiddle with our clocks and put them back one hour.
This year the Government's Fire Kills Campaign is asking you to simply take a minute to test your smoke alarm at the same time! It takes no time at all and could save your life. ‘Fire Kills’ has been running successfully since 1999 promoting fire safety on both a local and national level and Sprue fully supports this fantastic innovative idea and subsequent promotion campaign.
The campaign is led by the video ‘
British Summer Time comes to an end soon. Make sure you don't.’ Watch the full 42 second YouTube video below;
You’re more than four times as likely to die in a fire if your smoke alarm is not working, so ensuring that you replace batteries and testing alarms should become a regular activity for you to protect both your home and family.
After you’ve tested your
smoke alarms, you can then reward yourself with an extra hour of blissful sack-time. Hoorah!
