At FireAngel we provide a range of smoke detectors to suit all life styles. Our products take into account the different needs of students, parents, senior citizens, hearing impaired and caravan owners. The different types of smoke detectors are:
Ionisation smoke detectors are generally more effective at detecting fast flaming fires which consume combustible materials rapidly and spread fire quickly
Optical smoke detectors (toast proof smoke detectors) are less prone to false alarms from cooking fumes, therefore suitable for locations near kitchens.
Optical alarms are more effective at detecting slow smouldering fires = cigarette on furniture and bedding, overheating electrical cables.
However, Toast Proof (Optical) smoke alarms are more susceptible to false alarms from to steam and should not be located too close to bathrooms and showers.
