In the first of our new get to know the experts series, we say hello to our Area Specification Manager for the North East Elizabeth Mitchel, who has been part of the FireAngel team for nearly four years.
My role as Area Specification Manager is certainly multi-faceted and each day is different to the previous. My day to day activity sees me working across traditional sales, account management, customer services and creating FireAngel Specification opportunities – all while raising our profile and shouting about the FireAngel brand.
I usually have 3-4 scheduled meetings a day going out to see customers – I’m definitely excited to get back out on the road and safely see my customers face to face again. As a rule I try not to answer any customer calls in the car – I’d rather take a short message and call back when I’m at home as I like to take notes, concentrate on what they’re saying and be productive in giving them the time and focus they deserve.
Fridays tend to be my admin days and is usually the day I’ll catch up with the wider FireAngel Specification Team on a call. It also gives me the opportunity to keep ahead of industry news, legislation or specification challenges.
Before I accepted this role, I was a National Contracts Manager for a fire manufacturer looking after a team of six and managing social landlords, new build and wholesalers.
What I love about FireAngel is that we’re a family and our customers are an extension of this.
Like I say, we’re a family, we’re a team. We all work together and support each other and our customers to ensure we continue to provide a quality service. There’s a fantastic sense of morale, motivation and enthusiasm – I think I’m part of the best team ever!
I would say determined. I work hard to get everything ticked off as soon as possible – my customers are at the centre of everything I do and I work hard to support them as much as possible.
It would have to be my family and friends, technology oh…and gin!
When I was younger, I was part of a brass band that was invited to play on Blue Peter! I even got to meet John Lesley and Anthea Turner who were presenting that day.
Of course, the one and only David Bowie. He was talented, individual and unique. He truly followed his own path.
Well, it would definitely be waking up and winning the lottery…but in the land of reality it would involve chilling out with my other half, the kids and the dog. Although not necessarily in that order!
