Ensuring the safety of our loved ones, especially our friends and family, is always a top priority, but even more so at unprecedented times like now where we are facing a COVID-19 global pandemic.
Here at FireAngel we’re working hard to ensure you can alleviate some of that worry, by ensuring you can still protect your home against fire and carbon monoxide dangers.
Our staff members are following guidance from Public Health England (PHE) and the UK Government whilst maintaining the service and delivery of these critical safety products, and we will continue to do so unless it’s absolutely necessary not to.
The below topics should answer any questions you may have during this time:
Fire safety falls within the Government’s essential business listings which means we will continue to supply our customers with alarms if they remain operational. Many of our retail customers are still operating a click and collect or delivery service through their online platforms – for your safety we’d recommend you do not visit retail stores in person unless absolutely necessary. If you do need guidance on which alarms to install please contact our Technical Services team on the details below.

Many of us have elderly or vulnerable family members or neighbours who are currently in total isolation and may have been for some weeks. It’s important that this group are still protected against fire and carbon monoxide dangers.
Having working smoke alarms in the home is key, and with a simple test you can check the functionality. Using a sweeping brush or mop handle press the large test button on the alarm and wait for the audible beep to show it’s operational. We recommend this is completed weekly. If the alarm isn’t functioning a replacement can be purchased using the links above.
For those who are less able, carers who enter the property may be able to complete this test for them.
Many employees have now found themselves working from home – so it’s important we stay aware of the dangers of carbon monoxide poisoning and the effects it can have on our body.
Carbon monoxide (CO) is an extremely dangerous colourless, odourless and tasteless gas emitted when fuel is burned inefficiently. Common sources include boilers, gas fires and cookers, as well as many more. The symptoms of carbon monoxide poisoning are very similar to a cold, hangover and Coronavirus (COVID-19).
The only way to detect carbon monoxide is by using a carbon monoxide alarm which will give a loud audible alarm if it’s detected. You can purchase an alarm using the links above and even have it delivered directly to an elderly relative or neighbour in isolation so they’re also protected.

Please note: The symptoms of CO poisoning are similar to a cold, hangover and the symptoms of the Coronavirus COVID-19. However if you do experience any of the symptoms for the Coronavirus as advised on the NHS website you must follow their guidance on treatment.
