Jake’s journey

I have always been interested in the intricacies of sales, selling certain services and products as and when they are needed in different industries.  I found myself in the construction industry and progressed to an external sales role, which I really enjoyed and excelled in. Liaising with customers day to day is something I enjoy.  FireAngel itself is unique because of its software and IoT element which excites me as it is a new area that I’ve not tapped into, I always like to broaden my horizons and challenge myself with something new.

What personally attracted you to working at FireAngel?

I come from a safety-critical background, so the software sales part of the role to me was new and it is very interesting in what is a rapidly developing market and presents an exciting opportunity.

What goals do you hope to achieve?

I would like to be number one in the sales division personally, and being in sales this is something you should always strive to do. I also want to be able to share the knowledge I’ve learned with customers and internally here at FireAngel.

How important is it for products to be third-party certified?

It sounds fairly obvious but do your research, there are a lot of new emerging uncertified products out there. I think it’s a very fast-moving market in terms of the technology that has evolved so thorough research is required rather than relying on previous names and relationships.

Making sure fire and co alarms meet certification is massively important as it gives you peace of mind that the necessary safety and quality checks have been made. For peace of mind, you need to ensure any systems installed are certified, do what they say on the tin, and have been approved by third-party certification.  For resident and homeowner safety you need to ensure products are compliant and certified to the industry standard.

What is your favourite thing to do outside of work?

My time outside of work is simple and dare I say boring, but I spend a lot of time with my family, and any additional time I manage to make you will find me at the gym.

How can Jake support with your next new build housing project?

Jake prides himself on building the very best relationships with his clients to promote ongoing and future collaboration.
