The Sea Cadets empowers and builds life-long skills in young people to equip them for the future. Many young people are going into an adult world under-equipped with the resilience, self-belief and social confidence they need to make a decent life for themselves. Sea Cadets has the skills to change this.
Young people leave the Sea Cadets feeling more confident, comfortable speaking to and leading others, adaptable and highly motivated and with skilled qualifications to prove it.
Since the beginning of the energy crisis in October 2021, the average energy bill has increased significantly. National Energy Action estimates that 5.6 million UK households are currently in fuel poverty, unable to afford to heat their homes to the temperature needed to keep warm and healthy, and falling into debt.
National Energy Action (NEA) is the national charity working to end fuel poverty in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. The NEA offer advice and support to fuel-poor households as well as advocating for policy and regulation to protect the most vulnerable households.
Ben was child who was diagnosed with Alveolar Rhabdomyosarcoma in June 2018 and sadly passed away in June 2019.
Before diagnosis he was a bright, happy, cheeky boy. He remained the same despite the ongoing brutal effects of his chemotherapy treatment. Even when first diagnosed he wanted to Pass his Smile to other people to cheer them up and Pass The Smile was born.
Treatment for Rhabdomyosarcoma has not advanced for decades and survival rates are shockingly poor. Pass The Smile raises money to raise awareness and encourage more research into better, kinder, targeted treatments.
