A right royal cake sale

To celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, FireAngel enjoyed a delicious cake sale to raise money for The Trussell Trust.

On May 24th, home safety technology specialist FireAngel held two delicious cake sales across both Coventry and Gloucester offices, raising more than £200 for charity.

From fan-favourite salted caramel cake to vegan cupcakes, Battenberg squares, Viennese whirls and lemon drizzle slices, there were plenty of sweet treats to tempt the team.

With the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee just around the corner, it proved the perfect opportunity to hang the Union Jack bunting, catch up with colleagues and come together to raise money for a worthy cause.

All donations received will be going to The Trussell Trust, as part of their #TeaForTrussell campaign. At FireAngel, we believe no one should be faced with the indignity of needing emergency food. Yet food banks in The Trussell Trust’s network gave out 936,000 emergency food parcels between 1 April and 30 September 2021. More than 356,000 of them went to children.

Need for emergency food has been increasing year-on-year and the latest figures from the Foodbank Network highlight an alarming 128% rise compared to this time five years ago.

Thanks to the amazing efforts of both our Gloucester and Coventry teams, FireAngel are proud to have raised £224 for The Trussell Trust which will ensure they can continue to provide this vital support to our communities.
