CO Advice

Working to raise CO awareness in South Asian communities

This Gas Safety Week, we’re proud to support Think CO in producing a video highlighting the dangers of carbon monoxide.

After being alerted by Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service that many people of South Asian heritage were not as aware of carbon monoxide (CO) risks as they could be, the Think CO Programme run by the Gas Safe Charity wanted to help change this.

In partnership with FireAngel, Cadent and the Shree Sanatan Mandir and Community Centre, Think CO and Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service filmed a video highlighting the sources, signs and symptoms of CO. Often referred to as the ‘Silent Killer’, raising awareness of CO is so important as you cannot see, smell or taste it.

Think CO Hindi CO awareness video

The video, filmed in Hindi with English subtitles, explains how the only way to protect your family is by fitting a quality, audible carbon monoxide alarm close to any fuel-burning appliances. It also covers the importance of servicing any gas appliances in your home every year using a Gas Safe registered engineer.
