Key features of our new range

Our new range of carbon monoxide alarms offer a variety of exciting features.

Enhanced CO sensing

The alarm’s high sensitivity mode will be enabled if the alarm predicts CO levels will increase to or above 180ppm for fast reaction to rising CO levels.

Ventilate instruction

With low level CO monitoring, a pre-alarm warning to open windows helps reduce the risk of CO poisoning and prevents build-up of dangerous CO levels. If a room is not ventilated and ppm levels continue to increase, the alarm will activate.

Alarm memory

With the alarm memory function, the red LED will flash to provide a visual indication of a previous CO alarm activation.

Rest peacefully with sleep easy

With our sleep easy function, you can silence low battery chirps for 8 hours, up to 10 times. This feature not only allows you to enjoy a silent night’s sleep, but gives you vital time to take action and replace your batteries.

Quiet self-test

For a less disruptive way to ensure all your alarms are in working order, try our new quiet self-test option. You’ll also still be able to test your alarms at full volume.

How many CO alarms do I need to protect my family and home?

The advice below is purely provided for ‘best practice’ and should not be used independently. Please note, these alarms are not suitable for homes in Scotland under the new Fire & CO regulations.

An audible Carbon Monoxide detector is the only way to be alerted to a carbon monoxide leak; it can’t be smelt, tasted or seen so it’s impossible for human senses to detect.

Known as the ‘Silent Killer’, CO occurs when fuels burn incompletely, with common sources being boilers, gas fires and hobs and solid fuel burners. However, carbon monoxide can also pass through walls, so you would also be at risk if a neighbouring property had a leak.

FireAngel recommend a CO alarm is installed between 1 m and 3 m away from each fuel‑burning appliance, as well as installing additional units in areas such as living rooms and bedrooms where you spend most time whilst at home.

Activating your new FireAngel CO alarm

To activate your CO alarm, pull the disabling tab out of the alarm and wait up to 1 minute for the green LED to flash to confirm the alarm is active. After 1 minute, press the test button to hear the alarm sound. Please note, the alarm will not sound before the 1 minute activation period is complete.

CO alarms and rental properties

FireAngel's new CO alarm range

Tenants, do you know your rights as a renter when it comes to CO alarms in your home? The Government announced its response to a consultation on the use of smoke and carbon monoxide alarms in domestic properties.

Under the extended Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Alarm (England) Regulations 2015, from October 1st 2022, a carbon monoxide alarm will be required in all rooms where there is a fixed combustion appliance – such as gas boilers or gas fires – once the compliance date is announced. However, gas cookers are excluded from the updated regulation.
