The vibrating pad that forms part of the W2‑SVP‑630L Wi‑Safe 2 Strobe and Vibrating Pad (FS1552W2-T) contains a small motor which in turn contains a small magnet. General advice for products incorporating magnets, and for electrical products in general is for users fitted with a pacemaker or users of other medical equipment should check with authorised medical staff and the instructions of the device manufacturer before use, we recommend that these steps are taken by users of Wi‑Safe 2 system. During the development and certification of the W2‑SVP‑630L, the product passed the required set of Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) tests. These tests determine whether electromagnetic emissions from a product will interfere with the performance of other devices, or whether the performance of the product could be affected by emissions from other devices. In addition to the EMC tests, additional tests were carried out to measure the magnetic fields produced by the motor contained within the vibrating pad. This report can be provided on request. This work was completed in January 2011 a précis of which is that findings were that a maximum magnetic field strength at any point on the outer casing of the vibrating pad was 46uT (46 micro Tesla’s). As a meaningful measurement to give some indication of How weak this is, the earth’s magnetic field varies between 25uT and 65uT. In cases of doubt, this information should be viewed by the patient’s consulting cardiologist for a final decision.

This system is designed for individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing. Install the main unit in the primary sleeping area, and additional vibrating pads can be wirelessly linked and placed in other rooms for maximum coverage.

Our strobe and pad does not require an internet connection to work, but instead communicates with Specification Smoke, Heat and CO alarms via a secure radio frequency. Featuring Smart RF technology , this device is compatible for use with all our Specification range of mains and battery powered devices.

You can also benefit from mixed system flexibility – our alarm control unit features advanced Smart RF technology and works with our Specification range of mains and/or battery products. This means for increased safety you can easily create a hybrid system of mains and/or battery products – extend your network without the fuss!

A Grade D1 system is required for:
  • New or materially altered dwellings, up to three storeys with no floor exceeding 200 m2.
  • Existing dwellings with poor or inadequate fire protection, up to three storeys with no floor exceeding 200 m2.
  • Individual dwelling units of two or more rooms in Houses in Multiple Occupation (HMOs) of one or two-storeys, with no floor exceeding 200 m2.
There are three Levels of Detection (LD). Generally the greater the fire risk the more comprehensive the system should be.
LD1 = Maximum Protection. Alarms in all circulation spaces that form part of escape routes and all areas where a fire might start.
LD2 = Medium Protection. All circulation spaces and escape routes (e.g.hallways and landings) are covered together with a provision of higher fire risk areas (e.g.kitchen and living rooms).
LD3 = Minimum Protection. Alarms in all circulation spaces that form part of escape routes.
* Ensure that a Grade D1 system is adequate for the dwelling you are installing the alarms in. You can obtain further information from your local fire service or building control department at your local council offices.

Extend your protection

Protecting your properties and tenants is easier than ever with our range of smoke, heat, and carbon monoxide alarms. To ensure complete coverage, it’s essential to make sure you’re installing best practice and ensure compliance with your regional fire & CO safety laws.

For added peace of mind, upgrade to our Specification Range. These smart alarms, designed for social housing, can be interlinked (via hardwire or wireless) so when one alarm is triggered, all alarms in the property sound. Landlords can monitor and manage alarms remotely via the FireAngel Connected app, receiving device data and notifications without needing access to the property. The free app also allows for easy testing and instant notifications, showing the status of alarms, e.g. if they’ve been removed or need maintenance.
