Zigbee is similar to a Bluetooth or radio frequency system which allows the Gateway to share data remotely. Once interlinked within a Smart RF network, every interlinked FireAngel alarm can be easily silenced or tested via pressing the large central button on the alarm, but we recognise this isn’t easy for everyone. Without an alarm control unit, residents will need to physically test each of their alarms across several different rooms. This is a simple task for those who are able (typically via a broom/ladder) however this can be difficult for the elderly, disabled or those living in properties with high ceilings.

Therefore, by integrating just one Smart RF alarm into a home network, you can test every alarm remotely.

Spec+ Controllers are designed to test, silence and locate Spec+ alarms, making them suitable for all homes. They are particularly useful in assisted living environments and properties where accessibility or maintenance is more challenging, such as for elderly or disabled users or homes with high ceilings.

No. The SP565 Hardwired Controller and SP560 Wireless Controller do not require an internet connection to operate.

A hardwired controller can be installed in any suitable room within the property where a wall-mounted, mains-powered accessory can be fitted. It should be positioned where it is easily accessible for testing, silencing and controlling the alarm system.

Yes. The Spec+ range is compatible with a range of dedicated accessories, including the SP565 Hardwired Controller and the SP560 Wireless Controller, allowing you to expand and enhance your alarm system to suit your installation requirements.

The FireAngel Angel Pro app is designed to support installation, setup and diagnostics, but it is not required for the alarms to operate. The SP500 / SP510 / SP520 / SP530 / SP540 can all be installed and configured manually, ensuring protection is not dependent on the app. These are alarm-first products, with the app simply providing additional convenience, visibility and support for installers and customers.

The Spec+ range is certified to the same UKAS-recognised standards required for the UK market as products certified by other recognised bodies. The FP2620W2-R uses Thermoptek multi-sensor technology that combines optical and thermal sensing. This toast-proof design distinguishes between cooking fumes and real fire, so it can be placed near kitchens and dining areas without nuisance alarms. If it does trigger accidentally, press the central button to hush for up to 10 minutes.

The FP2620W2-R works as a standalone or wirelessly interlinked alarm without the Gateway. However, adding the Pro Connected Gateway enables real-time smartphone notifications through the FireAngel Pro Connected App, so you receive alerts even when you are away from home.

A continuous loud alarm with four beeps means carbon monoxide has been detected – evacuate immediately and call 0800 111 999. A single chirp at regular intervals usually means the battery or sensor is reaching end of life and the unit needs replacing. Early symptoms include headaches, dizziness, nausea, breathlessness, and tiredness. These are often mistaken for flu because carbon monoxide is colourless and odourless. Prolonged exposure can lead to confusion, loss of consciousness, and can be fatal. If the alarm sounds, open all windows and doors immediately to ventilate the room. Turn off any fuel-burning appliances if it is safe to do so. Move everyone, including pets, outside into fresh air and call the Gas Emergency Service on 0800 111 999. Do not re-enter the property until a qualified engineer has confirmed it is safe. A quiet self‑test allows you to ensure your carbon monoxide alarm is working, without disturbing anyone else with a loud alarm. A single press of the test button will perform a quiet self test, with the alarm volume at least 10dB below the full volume of your alarm. A double press of the test button will perform a self test at full alarm volume (85dB@3M).

During the development and certification of the W2‑SVP‑630L, the product passed the required set of Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) tests. These tests determine whether electromagnetic emissions from a product will interfere with the performance of other devices, or whether the performance of the product could be affected by emissions from other devices. In addition to the EMC tests, additional tests were carried out to measure the magnetic fields produced by the motor contained within the vibrating pad. This report can be provided on request. This work was completed in January 2011 a précis of which is that findings were that a maximum magnetic field strength at any point on the outer casing of the vibrating pad was 46uT (46 micro Teslas). As a meaningful measurement to give some indication of how weak this is, the earth’s magnetic field varies between 25uT and 65uT. No, you should never mix other manufacturer smoke, heat and CO alarms within any single network – products will not function correctly and this will affect the levels of fire and CO protection. We highly recommend you never do this and you should always create a network of FireAngel alarms only.

Yes, our Mains 9V range of SW1-PF-T, HW1-PF-T, CW1-PF-T alarms can be hardwire interconnected with up to 12 smoke, heat or CO alarms or wirelessly interconnected with up to 50 alarms with the RF interlink base (RF-BW-T)

Thermoptek technology combines the very latest in optical sensing with a thermal enhancement – it has two separate sensing elements. The different sensing elements constantly monitor for two different by‑products for fires (smoke and temperature). If a rate of temperature rise is detected the sensitivity of the smoke alarm is increased. This provides a quicker response time to all fire types; fast flaming and slow‑burning fires.

The Pro Connected range of alarms and Specification alarms are all compatible with the FireAngel Gateway. You can remotely monitor your alarms using the Connected App.

There are three types of reports available: Full Maintenance & Compliance Report, Quick Report or Product Test.

Hold your phone against the NFC device, move phone until it vibrates and hold still for 5 seconds until test is complete. Please do not move your phone once connected and until test is complete. If moved too soon, connection will be lost and you may need to repeat the process again.
