Refer to the product-specific manual for proper testing instructions. Regular testing helps ensure your alarms are working correctly and provides peace of mind.
There are three types of reports available: Full Maintenance & Compliance Report, Quick Report or Product Test.
Once interlinked within a Smart RF network, every interlinked FireAngel alarm can be easily silenced or tested via pressing the large central button on the alarm, but we recognise this isn’t easy for everyone. Without an alarm control unit, residents will need to physically test each of their alarms across several different rooms. This is a simple task for those who are able (typically via a broom/ladder) however this can be difficult for the elderly, disabled or those living in properties with high ceilings.
Therefore, by integrating just one Smart RF alarm into a home network, you can test every alarm remotely.
The Pro Connected range of alarms and Specification alarms are all compatible with the FireAngel Gateway. You can remotely monitor your alarms using the Connected App.
FireAngel offers multiple test report options: Full Maintenance & Compliance Report: A comprehensive diagnostic check, including sound and LED tests, taking about 2-3 minutes. Quick Report: Available through the FireAngel app for fast diagnostics. Product Test: Simply press the test button on the alarm.
No, the SB1-T is a standalone battery-powered optical smoke alarm with no interlink options. This unit cannot be interlinked with any other products – please see our FireAngel Specification range or our FireAngel Mains with 9V battery backup range, both of these ranges offer hardwire and wireless interlink options.
Zigbee is similar to a Bluetooth or radio frequency system which allows the Gateway to share data remotely. It can connect with up to 20 additional Zigbee sensors in a property, such as water leak detectors, air quality monitors and motion sensors, to create a holistic network of protection and detection for residents.
FireAngel alarms are certified to meet British Standards and European Standards for safety including BS EN 14604, BS 5446-2, EN 50291, BSI Kitemark.
Yes, FireAngel’s Specification range supports Smart RF technology, enabling you to create wireless networks with smoke alarms, heat alarms, and carbon monoxide alarms. Alarms in this range include:
FS2126-T (Battery Multi-Sensor Smoke Alarm)
FS1226-T (Battery Heat Alarm)
FS1326-T (Battery CO Alarm)
This feature allows for comprehensive monitoring and easy management of your fire and CO safety system.
Thermoptek technology combines the very latest in optical sensing with a thermal enhancement – it has two separate sensing elements. The different sensing elements constantly monitor for two different by‑products for fires (smoke and temperature). If a rate of temperature rise is detected the sensitivity of the smoke alarm is increased. This provides a quicker response time to all fire types; fast flaming and slow‑burning fires.
The Gateway connects wirelessly to chosen network of devices and continually monitors alarms, creating a link between Smart RF, Wi‑Safe 2, Zigbee devices and FireAngel’s Connected cloud platform. The Gateway is also equipped with LTE/GPRS Cellular and Wi‑Fi connectivity options.

Yes, our Mains 9V range of SW1-PF-T, HW1-PF-T, CW1-PF-T alarms can be hardwire interconnected with up to 12 smoke, heat or CO alarms or wirelessly interconnected with up to 50 alarms with the RF interlink base (RF-BW-T)
With in‑built temperature (accuracy: ±0.5 ºC) and humidity sensor (accuracy: ±3% RH) the Gateway provides real‑time data of a property’s internal environment, enabling housing providers to actively review and spot any properties at risk of damp and mould.
The vibrating pad that forms part of the W2‑SVP‑630L Wi‑Safe 2 Strobe and Vibrating Pad (FS1552W2-T) contains a small motor which in turn contains a small magnet. General advice for products incorporating magnets, and for electrical products in general is for users fitted with a pacemaker or users of other medical equipment should check with authorised medical staff and the instructions of the device manufacturer before use, we recommend that these steps are taken by users of Wi‑Safe 2 system. During the development and certification of the W2‑SVP‑630L, the product passed the required set of Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) tests. These tests determine whether electromagnetic emissions from a product will interfere with the performance of other devices, or whether the performance of the product could be affected by emissions from other devices. In addition to the EMC tests, additional tests were carried out to measure the magnetic fields produced by the motor contained within the vibrating pad. This report can be provided on request. This work was completed in January 2011 a précis of which is that findings were that a maximum magnetic field strength at any point on the outer casing of the vibrating pad was 46uT (46 micro Tesla’s). As a meaningful measurement to give some indication of How weak this is, the earth’s magnetic field varies between 25uT and 65uT. In cases of doubt, this information should be viewed by the patient’s consulting cardiologist for a final decision.
No, you should never mix other manufacturer smoke, heat and CO alarms within any single network – products will not function correctly and this will affect the levels of fire and CO protection. We highly recommend you never do this and you should always create a network of FireAngel alarms only.
Featuring Smart RF technology, our mesh monitor is compatible for use with our Specification range of mains and battery‑powered devices.
You can also benefit from mixed system flexibility – our Specification range of mains and battery products all feature Smart RF wireless interlink technology. This means for increased safety you can easily create a hybrid system of mains and/or battery products.
Thermoptek is a type of smoke alarm sensor technology and is used in FireAngel’s Pro Connected range of mains and battery powered Multi‑Sensor smoke alarms, which is the trusted technology of the UK Fire and Rescue Service since 2007. Thermoptek technology provides a much faster response to fire, giving you more time to escape should a fire occur.

FireAngel Thermistek technology is found our Pro Connected heat alarms and combines a patented radiant heat dish, high‑performance Class A1 thermistor and a predictive monitor algorithm in order to provide a quicker response to danger. When compared to traditional heat alarms, Thermistek technology reduces the reaction window by half – meaning you and your family have vital extra time to react.
A quiet self‑test allows you to ensure your alarm is working, without disturbing anyone else with a loud alarm. A single press of the test button will perform a quiet self test, with the alarm volume at least 10dB below the full volume of your alarm. A double press of the test button will perform a self test at full alarm volume (85dB@3M).
A Carbon Monoxide (CO) alarm is the only way to alert residents to the presence of Carbon Monoxide within a property. A CO alarm via an audible alert
