At FireAngel, we are proud to support the Northamptonshire Fire & Rescue Service (NFRS) Winter Warmth Pack initiative once again. This partnership aims to enhance community safety by donating essential CO alarms to help protect vulnerable residents throughout the colder months.

Protecting communities this winter

This year, Northampton Fire & Rescue (NFRS) will distribute 75 Winter Warmth Packs between December and February across Northamptonshire. Each pack contains crucial cold-weather essentials, including thermal gear, a torch, a blanket, and a vital FireAngel carbon monoxide alarm. The alarms are crucial for protecting residents from dangerous CO exposure, especially in homes where heating may be unsafe or difficult to manage.

NFRS community prevention teams distribute these packs during targeted fire safety visits and engagement sessions. Priority is given to individuals living in hazardous or cold home environments, such as those experiencing homelessness, fuel poverty, or reliance on temporary heating appliances.

The impact of this initiative has been significant in previous years, with residents finding the support essential during freezing conditions.

Valued partnership with the Fire & Rescue Service

The collaboration supports our core mission of enhancing community safety through close partnership with UK fire and rescue services. By supplying certified alarms to prevention teams, we want to make sure that vulnerable people feel safe in their homes this winter and for years to come.

Tina Collett, Prevention Team Leader at Northampton Fire and Rescue Service, said: “These Winter Warmth Packs make a huge difference to the wellbeing and safety of vulnerable residents during the colder months. We are incredibly grateful for FireAngel’s continued support and partnership in helping us protect those at the highest risk.”

FireAngel National Account Manager Dan Tweddle said: “Working together with fire and rescue services ensures we can make a meaningful difference to those who need support most, particularly during the coldest and most challenging months of the year.”
