If you’re looking for a replacement alarm previously fitted by Fire & Rescue Services, the ST‑750 is ideal and in most instances will not require changing the baseplate.

The alarm comes with a sealed, tamper proof battery that will last the lifetime of the alarm. The sensor life is 10 years, so to ensure your home remains protected we recommend you replace the alarm after 10 years.

Testing your smoke alarms no longer requires a step ladder. FireAngel have you covered with a large central push button. As well as allowing easy testing, this large button also activates our Sleep Easy function which silences low battery chirps for 8 hours ‑ giving you a peaceful night’s sleep.

How do I stop false alarms from my smoke/heat alarm?

Ensure alarms are installed in appropriate locations. Smoke alarms should be kept away from kitchens and bathrooms where cooking fumes and steam can trigger false alarms.
Clean alarms regularly to remove dust or debris that could cause false alarms.
Consider installing heat alarms in areas prone to false alarms, such as kitchens and garages.

Do smoke alarms detect carbon monoxide?

Smoke alarms do not detect carbon monoxide (CO), for this additional detection you need to also install a CO alarm or a combination smoke and CO alarm, such as the FireAngel SCB10.

Where should I install a smoke alarm?

According to latest BS 5839‑6 standards, for maximum LD1 protection you should fit a smoke alarm in the following rooms: Hallway, Landing, Living Room, Bedroom, Airing / Meter Cupboards, Loft, Garage. A smoke alarm is not recommended for installation in a kitchen, you should install a heat alarm in kitchens.

Can Multi-Sensor alarms be installed in kitchens?

No, FireAngel Multi-Sensor alarms are not recommended for kitchens due to the likelihood of nuisance alarms from cooking fumes. FireAngel heat alarms should be installed in kitchens instead.
