The Pro Connected range are ‘smart’ alarms meaning they can wirelessly connect to other Pro Connected alarms and can be monitored using the Smart Gateway and FireAngel Pro Connected app remotely. They are interlinked so when one sounds they all sound, which is perfect for a remote location such as a garage or summer house.
The Pro Connected range of alarms and Specification alarms are all compatible with the FireAngel Gateway. You can remotely monitor your alarms using the Connected App.
There are many ways that a smoke alarm can be activated, which isn’t always due to a fire, but we recommend that you should act on every alert. On receiving alerts, check the situation to judge if you need to call the emergency services, or not. Your local Fire and Rescue Service can also support with guidance around preparing for emergency situations and the steps to help prevent them.
By using a Multi‑Sensor alarm – otherwise known as an “all in one smoke detector” or “combination alarm” – this eliminates the need to fit separate single‑sensor products (e.g. ionisation and optical alarms). Not only does this reduce the likelihood of false alarms associated with these types of alarms, but it also more environmentally friendly as there are storage and disposal issues with ionisation alarms due to their small quantities of radioactive material (Americium 241). It is important to note that this material – used to detect smoke – is in the form of a sealed source and represents no hazard to those installing, or living with, the alarm.
The vibrating pad that forms part of the W2‑SVP‑630L Wi‑Safe 2 Strobe and Vibrating Pad (FS1552W2-T) contains a small motor which in turn contains a small magnet. General advice for products incorporating magnets, and for electrical products in general is for users fitted with a pacemaker or users of other medical equipment should check with authorised medical staff and the instructions of the device manufacturer before use, we recommend that these steps are taken by users of Wi‑Safe 2 system. During the development and certification of the W2‑SVP‑630L, the product passed the required set of Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) tests. These tests determine whether electromagnetic emissions from a product will interfere with the performance of other devices, or whether the performance of the product could be affected by emissions from other devices. In addition to the EMC tests, additional tests were carried out to measure the magnetic fields produced by the motor contained within the vibrating pad. This report can be provided on request. This work was completed in January 2011 a précis of which is that findings were that a maximum magnetic field strength at any point on the outer casing of the vibrating pad was 46uT (46 micro Teslas). As a meaningful measurement to give some indication of how weak this is, the earth’s magnetic field varies between 25uT and 65uT. In cases of doubt, this information should be viewed by the patient’s consulting cardiologist for a final decision.
FireAngel Multi-Sensor alarms use both smoke and heat sensors, providing quicker and more reliable fire detection without the need for separate smoke and heat alarms.
T
No, FireAngel Multi-Sensor alarms are not recommended for kitchens due to the likelihood of nuisance alarms from cooking fumes. FireAngel heat alarms should be installed in kitchens instead.
T
Heat alarms, like the Thermistek Heat Sensing Alarm, are ideal for kitchens, garages, or unconverted lofts. These areas benefit from the reduced likelihood of false alarms caused by fumes or dust.
Install Multi-Sensor alarms in hallways, landings, living rooms, bedrooms, and dining rooms. For kitchens, use heat alarms to prevent nuisance alarms.
Install a CO alarm in every room with a fuel-burning appliance such as a boiler, gas fire, or wood-burning stove. Position it on the ceiling or high on a wall, between 1m and 3m from the CO source. For full coverage, fit one in every bedroom and living area too. See our guide on how many carbon monoxide alarms you need for room-by-room advice.
This system is designed for individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing. Install the main unit in the primary sleeping area, and additional vibrating pads can be wirelessly linked and placed in other rooms for maximum coverage.
FireAngel’s app uses the same login credentials as their web-based Installer Wizard. If you’re having trouble logging in, use your existing Installer Wizard credentials. For further assistance, contact FireAngel Customer Support.
Yes, FireAngel’s Specification range supports Smart RF technology, enabling you to create wireless networks with smoke alarms, heat alarms, and carbon monoxide alarms. Alarms in this range include:
FS2126-T (Battery Multi-Sensor Smoke Alarm)
FS1226-T (Battery Heat Alarm)
FS1326-T (Battery CO Alarm)
This feature allows for comprehensive monitoring and easy management of your fire and CO safety system.
The FA3322 LCD cycles between two standby displays:
Press the test button to switch between them. During this time the display also shows the peak CO level recorded over the last 4 weeks. The backlight changes colour based on alarm status, providing clear visual guidance. Under normal conditions with no CO detected, the CO reading shows zero.
Yes – this Carbon Monoxide Alarm is EN 50291-2 certified and IP44 splash resistant, suitable for all domestic settings, including caravan holiday homes, caravans, motor caravans, and boats.
Silence low battery warning ‘chirps’ , and bide vital time to replace the batteries or alarm, by pressing the test button. This will silence the alarm for 8 hours, up to a maximum of 10 times.
The digital screen displays a pre-alarm warning to ventilate, to reduce the risk of CO poisoning and prevent a build-up of dangerous CO levels.
With the alarm memory function, a red LED will flash to let you know with a visual indication that there has been a previous CO alarm activation within the last 30 days.
A quiet self‑test allows you to ensure your carbon monoxide alarm is working, without disturbing anyone else with a loud alarm. A single press of the test button will perform a quiet self test, with the alarm volume at least 10dB below the full volume of your alarm. A double press of the test button will perform a self test at full alarm volume (85dB@3M).
The Accessible Control Unit does not require an internet connection to work, but instead communicates with your Pro Connected Smoke, Heat and CO alarms via a secure radio frequency.
The only time you would require an internet connection with the FireAngel Pro Connected product range is when you are adding a Gateway and the FireAngel Connected App in to the network. This will enable push notifications to your phone or other smart devices, but if your internet supply fails the alarms will still function within the home and alert you to danger.
When alarms are interlinked they will all mirror the alert of the device which detects the danger or requires attention. When all of the alarms are alerting you can press the central test button on any of the alarms in the system to silence all alarms, except the alarm which has detected danger or needs further investigation.
In a network containing both smoke/kitchen heat alarms and carbon monoxide alarms, the alert style will tell you whether the danger is fire or carbon monoxide related. For smoke/fire detection the system will alarm with three beeps (beep – beep – beep) and if Carbon Monoxide is detected there will be four beeps (beep – beep – beep – beep).
If a Gateway is added to the network you can also check any push notifications or The App dashboard to see which device requires your attention.
When alarms are interlinked they are able to communicate and will alert at the same time if one of the alarms detects danger. In the case of wireless interlink, this communication is in the form of protected radio frequency, which means there’s no need to run cables between the alarms. The FireAngel Pro Connected alarms allow the network to be extended to include devices across your entire home. For example, a network of 7 x smoke alarms, 3 x heat alarms, 3 x carbon monoxide alarms and a Gateway will be completely secure and protect your whole home, and are backwards compatible with the FireAngel Wi‑Safe2 range.
You can also add a Gateway into the network which will allow you to receive updates on the network when you’re away from the home. The Gateway will communicate with the FireAngel Connected App using your home’s internet connection, but if this fails or cuts out the alarms will still protect your home, but you won’t receive a push notification.
The Alarm Control Unit is not part of a network. Please refer to the ‘Wireless Interlink’ section of the manual to ‘learn‑in’ the control unit to the network.
This indicates that one of the alarms has previously been activated. Please refer to the ‘Locate’ section of this manual.
An alarm on the network has developed a fault. Please refer to the ‘Fault Detection’ section of the manual.

No, the SB1-T is a standalone battery-powered optical smoke alarm with no interlink options. This unit cannot be interlinked with any other products – please see our FireAngel Specification range or our FireAngel Mains with 9V battery backup range, both of these ranges offer hardwire and wireless interlink options.
Thermoptek technology combines the very latest in optical sensing with a thermal enhancement – it has two separate sensing elements. The different sensing elements constantly monitor for two different by‑products for fires (smoke and temperature). If a rate of temperature rise is detected the sensitivity of the smoke alarm is increased. This provides a quicker response time to all fire types; fast flaming and slow‑burning fires.
Yes, our Mains 9V range of SW1-PF-T, HW1-PF-T, CW1-PF-T alarms can be hardwire interconnected with up to 12 smoke, heat or CO alarms or wirelessly interconnected with up to 50 alarms with the RF interlink base (RF-BW-T)
No, you should never mix other manufacturer smoke, heat and CO alarms within any single network – products will not function correctly and this will affect the levels of fire and CO protection. We highly recommend you never do this and you should always create a network of FireAngel alarms only.
Yes, our FireAngel Specification range and FireAngel Mains 9V range of alarms are suitable for all domestic properties, this includes rental and new build properties.
A Carbon Monoxide (CO) alarm is the only way to alert residents to the presence of Carbon Monoxide within a property. A CO alarm via an audible alert
Looking for a FireAngel HT‑630 heat alarm replacement?
Replace your end of life HT‑630 alarm with a FireAngel FA6720-R Heat Alarm with 10 year sealed for life battery, to be alerted to fires without the false reactions to cooking fumes.

Suitable for any room within a property – can be wall‑mounted or left free‑standing.
Once interlinked within a Smart RF network, every interlinked FireAngel alarm can be easily silenced or tested via pressing the large central button on the alarm, but we recognise this isn’t easy for everyone. Without an alarm control unit, residents will need to physically test each of their alarms across several different rooms. This is a simple task for those who are able (typically via a broom/ladder) however this can be difficult for the elderly, disabled or those living in properties with high ceilings.
Therefore, by integrating just one Smart RF alarm into a home network, you can test every alarm remotely.
Zigbee is similar to a Bluetooth or radio frequency system which allows the Gateway to share data remotely. It can connect with up to 20 additional Zigbee sensors in a property, such as water leak detectors, air quality monitors and motion sensors, to create a holistic network of protection and detection for residents.
The Gateway connects wirelessly to chosen network of devices and continually monitors alarms, creating a link between Smart RF, Wi‑Safe 2, Zigbee devices and FireAngel’s Connected cloud platform. The Gateway is also equipped with LTE/GPRS Cellular and Wi‑Fi connectivity options.
With in‑built temperature (accuracy: ±0.5 ºC) and humidity sensor (accuracy: ±3% RH) the Gateway provides real‑time data of a property’s internal environment, enabling housing providers to actively review and spot any properties at risk of damp and mould.
Featuring Smart RF technology, our mesh monitor is compatible for use with our Specification range of mains and battery‑powered devices.
You can also benefit from mixed system flexibility – our Specification range of mains and battery products all feature Smart RF wireless interlink technology. This means for increased safety you can easily create a hybrid system of mains and/or battery products.

It depends on your situation and where you live in the UK:
This supports compliance with carbon monoxide alarm UK law and landlord CO alarm regulations.
Even where not legally required, carbon monoxide detectors are strongly recommended by the UK Health Security Agency, Gas Safe Register and fire services for any home with fuel-burning appliances.
Yes – the FA6829S carbon monoxide alarm is certified to BS EN 50291-2:2019 for use in leisure accommodation vehicles including caravans, campervans, motorhomes, and boats. It can be wall-mounted, free-standing, or used portably.
Carbon monoxide detectors are mandatory on boats under the Boat Safety Scheme (since April 2019) and are strongly recommended in caravans and motorhomes by the National Caravan Council. Battery-operated alarms are preferred for boats, where mains power may be unreliable.
Note: A carbon monoxide alarm does not detect propane or butane (LPG) leaks. If you use LPG appliances, a separate gas detector is recommended.
Carbon monoxide is produced when fuels such as gas, oil, wood, or coal burn without enough oxygen.
Common causes include:
Carbon monoxide can also travel through walls from adjoining properties.
The best prevention is annual servicing of appliances by a qualified, Gas Safe registered engineer, combined with a working CO alarm.
If the FA6829S alarm sounds:
The alarm emits 4 loud beeps followed by a pause, repeated continuously. This pattern is distinct from smoke alarm sounds (which pulse rapidly) and from low-battery warnings (a single chirp every 40–60 seconds).
At the same time, the digital display shows a clear “ALARM” message alongside the current CO level in parts per million (ppm).
If carbon monoxide is still present, the alarm will continue until the air clears. After an event, the red memory indicator flashes to show that the alarm was triggered, even if you were not present at the time.
No – this carbon monoxide (CO) alarm detects carbon monoxide only. It will not alert you to smoke or fire.
For complete home protection, you also need a dedicated smoke alarm such as the FireAngel FA6629S, or a combination smoke and CO alarm such as the FireAngel SCB10.
Yes. Under The Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Alarm (Amendment) Regulations 2022, private and social landlords in England must fit a CO alarm in every room with a fixed combustion appliance (excluding gas cookers). Similar requirements apply in Scotland and Wales.
The FA6829S has a 10-year sensor and battery life. When it reaches end of life, it will emit 3 rapid beeps every 60 seconds alongside 3 rapid yellow LED flashes.
At this point, replace the entire unit immediately – the electrochemical sensor deteriorates over time and cannot be serviced or recalibrated.
Replace your end-of-life CO-9D with the FireAngel FA6829S Ultra-slim CO alarm (10-year sealed battery) or the FA6812-EUX10 (replaceable AA batteries). The FA6829S includes a digital display, built-in alarm memory, and Night-time Sensing – all in a slimmer 25mm profile.
Test at least once a week by pressing the test button. Vacuum around the alarm every six months to remove dust. Your alarm will alert you with a low-battery chirp when the battery is running low. See our full smoke alarm testing guide for more detail.
In England, at least one smoke alarm is required on every storey used as living accommodation under the Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Alarm (England) Regulations 2015 (amended 2022). Scotland and Wales have their own requirements.
Press the large central test button on the FA6620-R. The quiet test function checks the alarm at a lower volume than a full alarm, so testing will not disturb loved ones or neighbours. Test at least once a week and vacuum around the alarm every six months to remove dust. See our full guide to testing your fire alarms for more detail.
A single chirp at regular intervals usually means the battery is running low. On the FA6620-R, the Sleep Easy feature lets you silence low-battery chirps for up to 8 hours so you can arrange a replacement without losing sleep. A continuous loud alarm means smoke has been detected – evacuate immediately and call 999. If the alarm sounds but there is no fire, press the test button to silence it temporarily and ventilate the room.
Install a smoke alarm on every level of your home. Position one in the hallway and landing on each floor, plus in bedrooms, living rooms, and dining rooms. Mount on the ceiling at least 300mm from any wall or light fitting. Do not fit a smoke alarm in the kitchen, bathroom, or garage – use a dedicated heat alarm such as the FireAngel FA6720-R for those areas instead. See our complete guide to installing smoke, heat and carbon monoxide alarms for step-by-step placement advice.
Nuisance alarms are often caused by cooking fumes, steam, or dust near the sensor. The FA6620-R uses optical sensing technology designed to reduce false alarms from cooking while still detecting slow-burning fires. If the alarm sounds without cause, press the test button to silence it temporarily. Make sure the alarm is not installed in a kitchen, bathroom, or other high-moisture area, and vacuum the unit regularly to prevent dust build-up.
On the FA6620-R, a red LED flash approximately every 40 seconds confirms the alarm is active and working normally. If the red light flashes more frequently or the alarm sounds, smoke has been detected – evacuate immediately and call 999. If the LED stops flashing entirely, the battery may have reached end of life and the unit should be replaced.
Replace your end-of-life ST-622T or ST-620 with the FA6620-R. It offers optical sensing, a 10-year sealed-for-life battery, Sleep Easy, and a quiet test function. The FA6620-R fits the same baseplate, or can be installed easily using the supplied base and two screws. See our complete installation guide for step-by-step instructions.
In England, at least one smoke alarm is required on every storey used as living accommodation under the Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Alarm (England) Regulations 2015 (amended 2022). Scotland and Wales have their own requirements. For whole-home coverage, the FireAngel Pro Connected range wirelessly interlinks all your alarms so if one sounds, they all sound.
Press the large central test button on the FA6615-R.
On the FA6615-R, the Sleep Easy feature lets you silence low-battery chirps for up to 8 hours while you arrange replacement batteries. Simply swap the two AA batteries for new ones to restore full protection. A continuous loud alarm means smoke has been detected – evacuate immediately and call 999.
Nuisance alarms are often caused by cooking fumes, steam, or dust near the sensor. The FA6615-R uses optical sensing technology designed to reduce false alarms from cooking while still detecting slow-burning fires. If the alarm sounds without cause, press the test button to silence it temporarily. Make sure the alarm is not installed in a kitchen, bathroom, or other high-moisture area, and vacuum the unit regularly to prevent dust build-up.
On the FA6615-R, a red LED flash approximately every 40 seconds confirms the alarm is active and working normally. If the red light flashes more frequently or the alarm sounds, smoke has been detected – evacuate immediately and call 999. If the LED stops flashing entirely, the batteries may need replacing.
Replace your end-of-life ST-625 or ST-622 with the FA6615-R. It offers optical sensing, replaceable AA batteries, Sleep Easy, and a quiet test function. The FA6615-R fits the same baseplate as the ST-625 with a simple swap, or can be installed using the supplied base and screws. It also replaces the ST-620 and ST-750 using the existing baseplate. See our complete installation guide for step-by-step instructions.
Press the test/hush button on the FA3820-EUX10. You will hear two loud sequences of four beeps and the LED will flash, confirming the alarm is working. Test at least once a month and vacuum around the unit every six months to remove dust. See our full guide to testing your CO alarm for more detail.
If the alarm sounds, open all windows and doors immediately to ventilate the room. Turn off any fuel-burning appliances if it is safe to do so. Move everyone, including pets, outside into fresh air and call the Gas Emergency Service on 0800 111 999. Do not re-enter the property until a qualified engineer has confirmed it is safe. See our step-by-step guide to what to do if your CO alarm goes off.
Early symptoms include headaches, dizziness, nausea, breathlessness, and tiredness. These are often mistaken for flu because carbon monoxide is colourless and odourless. Prolonged exposure can lead to confusion, loss of consciousness, and can be fatal. If several people in the same building feel unwell at the same time, suspect carbon monoxide and evacuate immediately. Visit our carbon monoxide safety page for more information.
A continuous loud alarm with four beeps means carbon monoxide has been detected – evacuate immediately and call 0800 111 999. A single chirp at regular intervals usually means the battery or sensor is reaching end of life and the unit needs replacing. The 30-day memory function on the FA3820-EUX10 lets you check whether CO was detected while you were away. See our guide to CO alarm beeping for a full explanation of each sound pattern.
If your home has any fuel-burning appliance – including a gas boiler, gas cooker, gas fire, oil burner, or wood-burning stove – you should have a carbon monoxide alarm. In England, a CO alarm is legally required in any room with a fixed combustion appliance (excluding gas cookers) under the Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Alarm (England) Regulations 2015 (amended 2022). Scotland and Wales have similar requirements.
Replace your end-of-life CO-9X with the FA3820-EUX10. It offers an advanced electrochemical sensor, a 10-year sealed battery, a ventilate pre-alarm warning, and BSI Kitemark certification. The FA3820-EUX10 fits in the same location as your old alarm. For a model with a digital display showing the CO reading in parts per million, consider the FireAngel FA3322. See our complete installation guide for step-by-step instructions.
The FP2620W2-R works as a standalone or wirelessly interlinked alarm without the Gateway. However, adding the Pro Connected Gateway enables real-time smartphone notifications through the FireAngel Pro Connected App, so you receive alerts even when you are away from home.
The FP2620W2-R uses Thermoptek multi-sensor technology that combines optical and thermal sensing. This toast-proof design distinguishes between cooking fumes and real fire, so it can be placed near kitchens and dining areas without nuisance alarms. If it does trigger accidentally, press the central button to hush for up to 10 minutes.
A single beep every 40 seconds typically means the battery is reaching end of life and the alarm needs replacing. A repeated pattern of beeps indicates a fault. The Sleep Easy mode can silence low-battery beeps overnight. See our smoke alarm beeping guide to identify the specific pattern and what to do.
In Scotland, interlinked smoke alarms have been a legal requirement in all homes since February 2022. In England, smoke alarms are required on every storey of rental properties under the Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Alarm Regulations 2015. The FP2620W2-R meets these requirements wirelessly with no cabling needed. See our guide to interconnected smoke alarms for full details.
Standard optical alarms use a single light-scatter sensor to detect smoke particles. Thermoptek adds a thermal sensor that monitors heat changes, allowing the alarm to respond to both slow-smouldering and fast-flaming fires and reducing false alarms from steam or cooking fumes. See our guide on what smoke alarm should I buy for a full comparison.
As a minimum, install one smoke alarm on every storey of your home, including hallways and landings. For better coverage, add alarms in every bedroom, living room and dining room. The FP2620W2-R can interlink wirelessly with up to 50 devices, making whole-home coverage simple. See our guide on the best smoke alarms on the UK market for recommendations.
Press and hold the test button on the FA6812-EUX10. The alarm will sound, the red LED will flash, and the LCD display will show a test reading, confirming the unit is working. Test at least once a month. See our full guide to testing your CO alarm for more detail.
If the alarm sounds, open all windows and doors immediately. Turn off any fuel-burning appliances if safe to do so. Move everyone, including pets, outside into fresh air and call the Gas Emergency Service on 0800 111 999. The LCD display will show the CO level in ppm so you can report the reading to the engineer. See our step-by-step guide to what to do if your CO alarm goes off.
Yes. The FA6812-EUX10 is EN 50291-2:2019 certified specifically for use in caravans, campervans, motorhomes and leisure accommodation vehicles. At just 146g it is lightweight and portable, and can be placed free-standing on any flat surface. See our guide to caravan fire and CO safety for full advice.
The LCD screen shows the current carbon monoxide concentration in parts per million (ppm). Under normal conditions it displays zero. If CO is detected, the number rises to show the exact level. The alarm triggers at thresholds set by EN 50291: 50ppm within 60 to 90 minutes, 100ppm within 10 to 40 minutes, and 300ppm or more within 3 minutes.
A single chirp every 40 seconds with an amber LED flash means the battery is low and needs replacing. A repeated alarm pattern with a red LED means CO has been detected. An EOL (end-of-life) alert means the 10-year sensor has expired and the unit needs replacing. Sleep Easy mode can silence low-battery chirps for 8 hours overnight. See our CO alarm beeping guide to identify the specific pattern.
If the FA6812-EUX10 detects carbon monoxide while you are away, the memory function stores the event. When you return, the red LED will flash twice every 40 seconds for up to 7 days to alert you that CO was present. Press the test button to clear the memory indicator. See our guide to CO alarm memory for more information.
The FA6812-EUX10 uses 2 x AA alkaline batteries, which are included. Battery life exceeds 3 years under normal conditions. When the battery runs low, a chirp sounds every 40 seconds and the amber LED flashes. Replace with any standard AA alkaline battery from brands such as Duracell, Energizer, or similar.
Press the test button once for a quiet self-test at reduced volume, or press twice for a full-volume 85dB test. The LCD display will show a test reading and the LED will flash, confirming the unit is working. Test at least once a month. See our full guide to testing your CO alarm for more detail.
Yes. The FireAngel FA3322 was awarded Which? Best Buy status for carbon monoxide alarms. Which? independently tests products for detection speed, alarm volume, battery life, and ease of use. Read more about the FA3322 Which? Best Buy award.
A single chirp typically means low battery, though the FA3322 has a sealed 10-year battery so this usually indicates the unit is reaching end of life and needs replacing. A repeated alarm pattern with red LED means CO has been detected. Sleep Easy mode can silence low-battery chirps for 8 hours overnight. See our CO alarm beeping guide to identify the specific pattern.
If the FA3322 detects carbon monoxide while you are away, the 30-day memory stores the event. A red LED flashes twice every 40 seconds for up to 7 days to alert you that CO was present. The LCD display also shows the peak CO level recorded during the event. Press the test button to clear the memory indicator. See our guide to CO alarm memory for more information.
Yes. The FA3322 is the replacement for any end-of-life CO-9D alarm. It offers the same digital display functionality with significant upgrades including a 10-year sealed battery, pre-alarm low-level CO detection, temperature and humidity monitoring, and BSI Kitemark certification to the latest EN 50291 standards.
Press the test/hush button once for a quiet self-test at reduced volume, at least 10dB below the full alarm. Double-press for a full-volume 85dB test. Both the alarm sound and the escape light will activate during the test. Test at least once a month. See our full guide to testing your smoke alarm for more detail.
A single chirp every 40 seconds typically means the AA batteries need replacing. Unlike sealed-battery alarms, you can simply swap in new batteries. If the chirping continues after replacing batteries, the 10-year sensor may have reached end of life and the alarm needs replacing entirely. See our smoke alarm beeping guide to identify the specific pattern.
False alarms are usually caused by steam, cooking fumes, dust, or insects entering the sensor chamber. The FA6611-R has a hush function that silences nuisance alarms for a few minutes. If false alarms happen often, try vacuuming around the sensor and repositioning the alarm away from kitchens and bathrooms. See our guide on top 10 reasons your smoke alarm goes off randomly.
The FA6611-R uses 2 x AA alkaline batteries, which are included. Battery life is up to 3 years under normal conditions. When the battery runs low, a chirp sounds every 40 seconds. Replace with any standard AA alkaline battery. Sleep Easy mode can silence low-battery chirps for 8 hours overnight.
Yes. The FA6611-R is ideal for bedrooms because the escape light provides immediate illumination if smoke is detected while you are asleep. The quiet self-test means you can check the alarm monthly without a full-volume alarm disturbing the household. See our guide on what smoke alarm should I buy for room-by-room advice.
Yes. The FA6611-R is suitable for leisure vehicles including caravans, campervans and motorhomes. The escape light is especially valuable in a confined space where visibility during a fire is limited. See our guide to caravan fire and CO safety for full advice on protecting your leisure vehicle.
Yes. The FA6611-R is the direct replacement for the end-of-life ST-623E smoke alarm. It offers the same escape light functionality with upgrades including a 10-year sensor life, quiet self-test, Sleep Easy mode, and a slimmer 32mm profile. If your ST-623E is beeping continuously, it has reached end of life and should be replaced with the FA6611-R.
A heat alarm detects rapid rises in temperature rather than smoke particles. The FA6720-R uses a thermistor sensor that triggers when ambient temperature reaches between 54 and 65 degrees Celsius. This makes heat alarms ideal for kitchens, garages and utility rooms where cooking fumes, steam or dust would cause a smoke alarm to false alarm.
A single chirp from the FA6720-R typically means the sealed battery is reaching end of life. Because the battery is sealed and tamperproof, it cannot be replaced. Use the Sleep Easy function to silence low-battery chirps for 8 hours overnight. When the alarm reaches end of life after 10 years, replace the entire unit. See our guide to maintaining and testing your heat alarm for more detail.
Heat alarms trigger at temperatures between 54 and 65 degrees Celsius. If your heat alarm triggers frequently, check that it is not positioned directly above a hob, oven or toaster where concentrated heat rises. Reposition the alarm further from the heat source while keeping it on the ceiling. If the alarm continues to trigger without an obvious heat source, it may be faulty and should be replaced.
Yes. The FA6720-R is designed for any room where smoke alarms are unsuitable. This includes garages, unconverted loft spaces, utility rooms and boiler rooms where dust, fumes or humidity would trigger false alarms from a smoke detector. The alarm operates in temperatures from 4 to 38 degrees Celsius, so it is suitable for unheated spaces that do not freeze.
Press the test/hush button once for a quiet self-test at reduced volume, at least 10dB below the full alarm. Double-press for a full-volume 85dB test. Test at least once a month. See our full guide to maintaining and testing your heat alarm for more detail.
Yes. The FA6720-R is the direct replacement for the discontinued HT-630 heat alarm. It uses the same baseplate, so you can swap units without drilling new holes. The FA6720-R offers upgrades including a 10-year sealed lithium battery, thermistor sensor technology, quiet self-test and Sleep Easy mode. If your HT-630 is chirping continuously, it has reached end of life and should be replaced with the FA6720-R.
No. The FA6629S is battery powered and designed for simple DIY installation. The base plate is secured with screws, and the alarm clicks into place with a clockwise twist. No wiring or electrician required.
Replace your end-of-life ST-622 or ST-620 with the FA6629S. It offers an advanced optical sensor, sealed 10-year battery, Night Mode, and Sleep Easy – all in an ultra-slim design that fits the same ceiling position.
Yes. A single press of the Test/Hush button performs a test at reduced volume. A longer press performs a full-volume test at 85dB.
When smoke is detected, the FA6629S emits a loud, continuous 85dB alarm and displays a clear visual warning. The alarm continues until the air clears. Test regularly using the Test/Hush button to familiarise yourself with the sound.
Yes. The Spec+ range is compatible with a range of dedicated accessories, including the SP565 Hardwired Controller and the SP560 Wireless Controller, allowing you to expand and enhance your alarm system to suit your installation requirements.
A hardwired controller can be installed in any suitable room within the property where a wall-mounted, mains-powered accessory can be fitted. It should be positioned where it is easily accessible for testing, silencing and controlling the alarm system.
Spec+ Controllers are designed to test, silence and locate Spec+ alarms, making them suitable for all homes. They are particularly useful in assisted living environments and properties where accessibility or maintenance is more challenging, such as for elderly or disabled users or homes with high ceilings.
